Audley End Gardens - July 2006

Dean, Helen and Hen decided to avoid the excitement of watching England loosing there place in the world cup and went to Audley End near Saffron Walden to visit the superb gardens. Hen had visited them once before but it was great to see them in the middle of the season. We didn't go around the house itself on this occasion.

The entrance to the beautiful walled organic kitchen garden

Not sure what plant this is.

One of the many greenhouses in the organic garden growing grapes, apricots, peaches, apples, tomatoes, cherries ...

The lavender.

Flowers in the other side of the walled garden ...

I only photograph them, I don't know what they are. It was in the rockery.

Some elegant catkins in the rockery.

Water Lilly.

I think this is an early chestnut.

cobwebs on a slate roof.

Not sure...

It was impossible to capture the wonderful branches of the huge tree.

Looks like an allium, but I don't think it is.

The 'Tea House Bridge'.

A single shot of the house, just to justify the trip.
